The Story Crazy For You is the musical story of Bobby Child, a rich, pampered, 1930s New York playboy heir to a wealthy banking family. In order to get away from his wealthy fiancée Irene who he does not want to marry he accepts his domineering mothers plans for him to go to Deadrock, Nevada, to foreclose a mortgage on a theatre. Deadrock, is a has-been mining town. The only woman in town is Polly Baker, the feisty postmistress. Her father, Everett, owns the Gaiety Theatre, a grand old Victorian structure that has gone to seed. Upon arrival in the lazy Western mining town, Bobby’s adventures take an unexpected turn when he falls head over heels in love with Polly Baker. Together they set out to restore the theatre, but in true musical fashion nothing goes quite according to plan! Crazy For You is packed with some of Gershwin’s best loved melodies. You’d be CRAZY to miss it! |
